In the Presbyterian Church, the Session is the governing body of the local congregation. Each Session is made up of Moderator, Clerk, and ordained Elders who serve at least a three year term. The Session is responsible for the life of faith in the local church.
At WPC, the elders are the spiritual leaders of the congregation. The Session gathers each week before worship for prayer and the sharing of concerns and joys of the congregation. The Session also meets each second Sunday of the month for an extended time of reports from committees, planning for future events, and study of God’s Word. Twice a year the Session meets offsite for a spiritual retreat that helps focus our attention on God's call in our lives and helps us grow closer together in our relationships.
The Moderator (or convener) of Session is the pastor, Lisa Webb. Ann Grisdale serves as Clerk (secretary).
